Japanese Art Rare Prices

Japanese Pokémon cards are usually far cheaper than their English equivalents. Big singles shops like Toreca Camp and Card Rush sell in huge volumes and price against each other, and the yen is weak against the pound (around ¥209 to £1 when these prices were checked). Art Rares (AR) are a good example: full-art illustrations that often cost a few hundred yen in Japan.

These pages show what each shop is asking for every AR in a set, in each condition grade, and which is cheapest right now. Prices are in yen, include Japanese consumption tax, and are for a single raw (ungraded) card. Most buyers outside Japan order through a proxy service, and the £ figure is a rough estimate of what one card costs once it lands. How the estimate works.

How the UK delivered estimate works

The “about £X delivered” figure is a rough guide to the cost of one card once it reaches the UK, assuming you buy it as part of a larger order through a proxy. It is not a quote.

  • Exchange rate: ¥209.4 to the pound (mid-market, as of 27 September 2026), less a 1.5% card/proxy FX spread, giving about ¥206.3 per £1.
  • Proxy and shipping: £0.44 per card, which is a proxy service fee plus EMS postage spread across an order of roughly 50–100 cards. A single-card order costs much more per card.
  • Import VAT: 20% UK import VAT on the landed value. Courier handling fees, if charged, are not included.

The US dollar figures on card pages are a plain currency conversion at ¥148 per $1, with no shipping, fees or tax.

“Near-mint” means condition grades A and A- as the shops define them. Grade B and C cards are cheaper but show visible wear.
